Itinerary

Day by day

Arrive in Guwahati and meet the tour team and your fellow riders. Check in to the hotel (from 12:00 PM) and rest. In the evening there is a trip briefing on the route, safety guidelines and preparation for the ride ahead.

Ride from the plains into the foothills, through countryside, winding roads and lush greenery, to Shergaon — a peaceful village in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Mountain roads, forested slopes and Himalayan valleys to Dirang, known for its Monpa culture, monasteries and charming settlements. Time permitting, visit a monastery or walk through the village.

Cross the spectacular Se La Pass among snow-covered peaks, stopping at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China War, before arriving in Tawang.

Visit Tawang Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in India, then Madhuri Lake and Bumla Pass near the Indo-China border, subject to permits and weather. Return to Tawang for the night.

Ride to Zemithang, a remote valley near the Indo-China border, through quiet mountain settlements that offer a glimpse of the Monpa way of life.

Remote villages, forested hills and winding roads through western Arunachal Pradesh to the quiet Himalayan settlement of Lumla.

Retrace the route back to Dirang at a relaxed pace, with breaks for refreshments and photographs, arriving by evening.

Descend from the Himalaya into the plains of Assam and watch the scenery, climate and vegetation change on the way to Kaziranga National Park.

An early-morning safari in Kaziranga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for the one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, deer and birdlife (subject to the park's schedule). Then the final ride to Guwahati and a farewell evening.

After breakfast, check out and head to Guwahati airport or railway station. Please book your return flight for after 8:00 PM to avoid problems with delays.
