Will I get space, going in a fixed departure with strangers?

And don’t worry—we’re here to balance the group and smooth out any rough edges, so your experience stays comfortable and enjoyable.

Safe to travel with strangers?

Of course! Strangers are just fellow travellers – no one joins with bad intent. We connect with every participant during booking, so group dynamics are understood in advance. Only like‑minded people make it to the tour, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey for everyone.

I’m not exactly new to life anymore. Do older riders and travellers still enjoy these trips?

Absolutely. Adventure travel is not just for the youngest people in the group. We see plenty of experienced riders and travellers on our expeditions, and the pace is always planned with the group in mind rather than with ego. The best trips are usually the ones where everyone feels comfortable enough to enjoy the road properly.

The photos are full of BBB (beards, bikes, and bad decisions). Do women actually join these trips?

Yes, they do. More every year, in fact. Adventure travel may have started a little male-heavy, but the road has room for everyone. We want women riders and travellers to feel just as welcome, comfortable, and looked after as anyone else in the group. We also run women-only tours.

I am selective about food. Will I be able to eat well on your tours?

Yes. Food is one of those things that can make or break a trip, so we take it seriously. We regularly arrange for special requests or selective food options. At the same time, we still plan for mixed groups, so guests who eat everything or enjoy a drink now and then are not left out either.

What is a pillion, and can my partner come along as one?

A pillion is simply the passenger riding on the back of the bike. On suitable tours, pillion riders are very much welcome. It is a great way to share the experience, especially for couples or friends who want the journey together without both people riding. The only requirement is being comfortable spending long hours on some of the most beautiful roads you’ll ever travel.

Will I get a mobile network during the trip?

In some places, yes. In remote mountain, desert, and border regions, coverage can become weak or disappear for long stretches. That is part of the experience, and in many cases, it is also the part people remember most once they settle into the trip.

What is a road captain or road marshal?

It is the person who keeps the group moving smoothly. They help with the route, the timing, the pace, and the small things that matter when you are travelling in a convoy or as part of a larger group. On a trip like this, that support makes a big difference.

What happens if my vehicle breaks down or I get injured?

Touring Tours’ trips include mechanics and backup vehicles on motorbike and self-drive journeys, which is what helps keep the trip moving if something goes wrong on the road. We provide support for all emergencies and our group is briefed beforehand on how to handle situations with us. An injured individual can always rest in the backup vehicle provided.

Do I need to be an expert rider or driver to join?

Not always. Some trips are easier than others, and some are meant for more confident travellers. What matters most is choosing the right trip for your experience level, because the best adventure is the one you can actually enjoy properly.

What does “acclimatisation” mean?

It means giving your body time to adjust to altitude before the trip gets more demanding. This matters a lot in high places, especially if the itinerary climbs quickly. A proper acclimatization day can make the rest of the journey much easier.

What should I pack for an adventure tour?

Pack light, and pack for changing weather. Comfortable clothes, layers, a power bank, sunscreen, a flashlight, personal medicines, and sturdy footwear are usually the basics. For self-drive and bike trips, soft luggage is far easier to manage than hard suitcases.

What kind of accommodation should I expect?

It depends on the destination, but the specific tour pages mention the hotels, shared and dormitory stays, homestays, and accommodation en route, depending on the package. So the right expectation is not luxury every night, but stays that fit the route and the style of the trip.

What if an animal comes near the camp?

That is one of the reasons people choose these kinds of trips in the first place. If wildlife is near camp, the right thing to do is stay calm, stay with the group, and let the trained staff handle it. The experience is meant to be close to nature, but always under supervision.
